About this image

Skype became popular in the early 2000s. At the time, zoom was the leading video call platform but it was not as user-friendly as Skype. Zoom eventually lost market share to Skype because of its user-friendly interface and free calling features. Skype also became popular during the pandemic because it allowed people to call each other for free without having to worry about viruses.
